The GE Fanuc IC693CHS399 baseplate is a 5-slot remote baseplate from GE Series 90-30. This remote baseplate is
made to be the same size, use the same kinds of power supplies, and to support the same I/O devices and custom
option modules as the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 expansion baseplates. The Series 90-30 remote baseplates and
expansion baseplates can connect to a single CPU baseplate to form a complete programmable logic controller or
PLC system. The IC693CHS399 remote baseplate must be connected to a personal computer or a baseplate with
a CPU in order to operate. It cannot stand alone. Some remote baseplates have 10 slots, but the IC693CHS399
remote baseplate has only 5 (excluding the leftmost slot which is only used to host the power supply module).
These 5 slots support I/O modules.
Up to 700 feet of cable can be used to connect all the baseplates in a PLC system that uses remote baseplates such
as the IC693CHS399 5-slot remote baseplate. This remote baseplate comes with a Rack Number Selection DIP
switch that can be used to select which rack in the PLC system that this remote baseplate will be connected to.
The IC693CHS399 remote baseplate connects to the CPU baseplate, expansion baseplates, and other remote
baseplates through its 25-pin female expansion connector which is a D-type connector. The connector is labeled
as an expansion connector to differentiate it from the 5 I/O slots and it is found at the right edge of the remote baseplate.
