Description:
The Honeywell FS-DCOM-232/485 Communication Interface Module is a communication Field Termination Assembly (FTA) designed to provide combined RS-232 and RS-485/422 communication interfaces for Safety Manager systems. It enables reliable data exchange between the Safety Manager controller and external devices through standard serial communication protocols.
This communication interface can be operated by a single Control Processor or by a pair of redundant Control Processors, ensuring flexible system configuration and improved operational reliability. The module does not require an independent power supply, as it receives power directly from the connected Control Processor.
For proper operation and protection, the communication FTA must be connected to earth using the provided terminal. This grounding connection links the shielding of the internal cables and the housing of the field connectors to the cabinet earth, helping reduce interference and enhance communication stability.
The module also features a universal snap-in mounting design compatible with standard DIN EN rails, allowing quick installation and easy integration into industrial control cabinets.
