Theory of Operation
The 9200‑02‑01‑10‑00 is a two‑wire Seismoprobe® velocity transducer from Bently Nevada’s 9200 series, engineered to measure absolute bearing housing, casing, or structural vibration relative to free space. It operates on moving‑coil technology: a coil moves within a magnetic field as the housing vibrates, generating a self‑generated voltage output directly proportional to the vibration velocity without requiring external power. This model features a 45° ±2.5° mounting angle, M10×1 threaded stud, and a top‑mounted terminal block for straightforward wiring. It delivers a sensitivity of 20 mV/mm/s (500 mV/in/s) ±5% with a frequency response from 4.5 Hz to 15 kHz, suitable for both permanent monitoring and portable diagnostics. Unlike accelerometers, the moving‑coil design is less sensitive to impact excitation, making it a robust choice for low‑frequency vibration monitoring on rotating machinery.
