The complete 3300 XL NSv system provides a: 1.5 mm linear range.
The approximate linear region extends from: 0.25 to 1.75 mm with an output of approximately: -1 to -13 VDC.

Baker Hughes developed the system for applications where installation space or target size makes a conventional 3300/3300 XL 5 mm or 8 mm system difficult to use.
The official target specifications include:
Minimum Flat Target: 8.9 mm (0.35 in)
Recommended Minimum Flat Target: 13 mm (0.5 in)
Minimum Shaft Diameter, Standard X-Y: 30 mm (1.2 in)
Minimum Shaft Diameter, 23 mm Axially Offset X-Y: 20 mm (0.8 in).
This makes the NSv family particularly useful on smaller compressor shafts.
