integralThe GE Fanuc IC693DNS201 module is a powerful communications module used with PACSystems
RX3i components and programmable logic controllers from GE Series 90-30. The module is intended for
communication on the DeviceNet network and it operates in the slave mode as a network server. The IC693DNS201
module is equipped with an RS-232 serial port that is used for firmware upgrades which are very important for the
proper operation of the unit. For example, the Bus of the DeviceNet module can use an external power source and
sometimes it requires cycling of power to the programmable controller when the power is turned off and a firmware
upgrade to both the master and slave modules on the network can resolve such an issue. The RS-232 serial port
has 9 pins and a male D-connector that allow for a secured connection.
