Product Description
The TQ442, EA402, and IQS450 form a complete proximity measurement system from Meggitt’s vibro-meter® product line. The system is designed for contactless measurement of relative displacement between moving machine components and targets. It is commonly used for monitoring shaft vibration and axial position in rotating equipment, including steam turbines, gas turbines, hydraulic turbines, alternators, turbo-compressors, and pumps.The system consists of a TQ442 non-contact proximity transducer, an EA402 extension cable, and an IQS450 signal conditioner. These components work together as a calibrated measurement chain, allowing interchangeable system components while maintaining measurement accuracy. The output signal is proportional to the distance between the sensor tip and the metallic target, such as a rotating machine shaft.
Signal Conditioner
The IQS450 signal conditioner provides the driving signal required by the TQ442 transducer. It contains a high-frequency modulator/demodulator circuit that generates the electromagnetic field used for gap measurement.The conditioner processes the sensor signal and provides a voltage or current output proportional to the measured distance. The electronics are installed in an aluminium housing and use high-quality components for stable operation in industrial monitoring applications.
Working Principle
The IQS450 signal conditioner operates using a high-frequency modulator/demodulator circuit to drive the TQ442 proximity transducer and process the measurement signal.The processed signal is available as a voltage or current output, which can be connected to machinery monitoring systems for shaft vibration and axial position measurement. The IQS450 is installed in an aluminium housing and uses high-quality electronic components to maintain stable operation in industrial monitoring applications.
