Theory of Operation
Similar to the above but with a 160 mm case, this unarmored M10×1 probe offers an extra 30 mm of insertion depth, making it suitable for machines with thicker housings or deeper mounting bores. The 5.0 m total length and FluidLoc cable (no protector) are retained, and the zero unthreaded tip remains. Electrical performance is identical to its shorter‑case counterpart – the scale factor, linear range, and supply sensitivity do not depend on case length. The sensing principle is unchanged: the proximity of the conductive target alters the coil’s effective inductance, and the Proximitor’s internal circuitry extracts a DC voltage proportional to the gap. This model is ideal when physical clearance demands a longer probe body, while the FluidLoc cable guards against oil migration.
