Fluid-Film Bearing Machinery
Bently Nevada identifies vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines as the primary application of the 3300 XL 8 mm system.
Radial Shaft Vibration
The probe detects dynamic changes in the gap between the probe tip and rotating shaft surface. These changes can be processed by the complete transducer system as shaft vibration.
Shaft Position
Static changes in probe-to-target distance can be used for position measurement, allowing the same proximity technology to monitor shaft displacement.
Keyphasor Reference
Bently Nevada officially identifies Keyphasor reference measurement as another primary application of the 3300 XL 8 mm system.
Speed Measurement
The system can also be applied to speed measurement. Baker Hughes notes that its dedicated application guidance should be consulted when proximity probes are considered for tachometer or overspeed measurements.
ClickLoc Connection
The 02 option provides the miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with standard cable.
For compatible XL-to-XL ClickLoc connections:

Maximum Torque: 0.565 N·m (5 in·lbf).
The connector design locks into position to reduce the possibility of a loose connection.
