Fluid-Film Bearing Machinery
Bently Nevada identifies vibration and position measurement on fluid-film bearing machines as the primary application of the 3300 XL 8 mm system.
Radial Shaft Vibration
The probe observes changes in the distance between its tip and the rotating conductive shaft. Dynamic changes can therefore be measured as shaft vibration by the complete proximity transducer system.
Shaft Position
Because the system measures static values, it can also monitor changes in shaft position relative to the installed probe.
Keyphasor Reference
Bently Nevada officially identifies Keyphasor reference measurement as a primary application of the 3300 XL 8 mm system.
Speed Measurement
The system can also be used for speed measurements. Bently Nevada notes that separate application guidance should be consulted for tachometer and overspeed applications.
