Industrial Applications
Radial Shaft Vibration
The system measures dynamic changes in probe-to-shaft distance. This allows shaft vibration to be monitored without physical contact between the probe tip and the rotating surface.
Shaft Position
Static changes in the probe-to-target gap can be measured as shaft position.
Keyphasor Reference
The 3300 XL 8 mm system supports Keyphasor reference measurement, providing rotational reference information for machinery monitoring applications.
Speed Measurement
Bently Nevada also identifies speed measurement as a primary system application. Separate manufacturer guidance applies when proximity probes are used for tachometer or overspeed measurements.
Measurement Performance
The complete system provides: Linear Range: 2 mm (80 mils)
Approximate Linear Region: 0.25–2.3 mm (10–90 mils)
Approximate Output: -1 to -17 VDC
For radial vibration applications: Recommended Gap: -9 VDC
which corresponds to approximately: 1.27 mm (50 mils).
The standard 1 m and 5 m systems specify an incremental scale factor of: 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) ±5% under the manufacturer's specified test conditions.
ClickLoc Connection
The 02 configuration uses Bently Nevada's miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with standard cable.
Compatible XL-to-XL connectors require:
Recommended Torque: Finger tight
Maximum Torque: 0.565 N·m (5 in·lbf).
The locking connection helps reduce the possibility of the connector loosening during service.
