Theory of Operation
A reverse‑mount probe with 3/8‑24 UNF threads, this model features a fixed unthreaded length (0.2 in) and fixed case length (1.2 in) per its base part number, and is ordered with a 5.0 m total system length. It uses FluidLoc cable without a connector protector (option 12) and has no agency approval. Reverse‑mount geometry allows installation from the inside of the machine casing, which is advantageous in confined spaces where forward mounting is impractical. The FluidLoc cable prevents oil leakage through the cable interior, though the probe sleeve itself already provides a primary seal. Its eddy‑current operation is identical to forward probes: the oscillator’s amplitude decreases with decreasing gap, and the Proximitor outputs a linearized voltage. With a 5 m total length, the system maintains full API 670 compliance, offering reliable vibration and position sensing even in tight mechanical envelopes.
